You can schedule your free COVID-19 shot thru Yale or other local health providers - see your Yale Health mychart for information. New vaccines are delivered and appts open daily, so check regularly to find a time and location that meets your needs. You may need to travel outside of greater NH to get an available shot slot in CT.
The university is strongly discouraging unnecessary travel for students, faculty and staff for the duration of this public health crisis. If you must travel outside of Greater New Haven CT area in Spring 2021 for 24 hours or more, as a GSAS Student you are required to submit a Travel Form to GSAS HSL IN ADVANCE of any travel. The form and Safety team will advise on Post-travel guidance for Fully Vaccinated Students, whose quarantine is eliminated or shortened, and not fully vaccinated students (required quarantine or 2 negative tests (Day 1 and day 5) before returning to any on-campus activities or access.)
McDougal Graduate Student Life is looking for a Family Fellow for the 2021-22 academic year! GSL Family Fellows create student life programs catered to GSAS students with families, and meet and collaborate with other students and administrators. You'll also get to develop your leadership and teamwork skills, and get paid! GSAS full-time degree students, in residence in Greater New Haven and in years 2-6 during the next academic year are invited to apply in any of 8 GSL program areas. Fellows serve 5-8 hrs per week and receive an honorarium. Applications close Sunday, May 2nd at 11:59pm. Interviews will be conducted over Zoom.

With things starting to look better both in terms of the pandemic and the weather, the best socially distanced social activity to do right now is go for a HIKE! So, we challenge you to take a hike either with someone (encouraged) or by yourself. From April 15th-30th, find a beautiful place to hike near wherever you are, record it with the AllTrails app, take a snapshot, and then fill out our online form. You'll be competing for several categories--best photo, greatest elevation change, longest hike, etc.--and winners will receive a FREE Yale goodie (T-shirt from Campus Customs etc.)

We wanted to call this "you’ve been sitting at your desk all day, and this is what you should do so you don’t permanently damage your body" but it was a little long. Join yoga instructor and mobility expert Jeremy Bennett for a weekly class to keep us all moving. The exercises demonstrated may be a little different each week but you can join at any time. No special equipment needed. Accessible for all fitness levels.
The third annual All Points West 2021, the only campus-wide symposium showcasing trainee research, is taking place in a virtual format again this year. Join us on zoom for an afternoon of research presentations, networking, and celebration of the diverse West Campus community. The event will consist of eight flashtalks highlighting research across each institute of West Campus, a collaborative networking session, an alumni panel, raffles, and voting to decide the audience favorite award. The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Laura Marks, a certified Zentangle instructor, will guide this introductory workshop.
