Upcoming West Campus Events for Graduate Students & Postdocs

Exploring Science Virtual Outreach

Every Tuesday 6PM on Zoom

Science outreach looks different without in person events, but there are still opportunities to volunteer! We are looking for scientists of any level to participate in a weekly virtual outreach event put on by Yale’s Pathways to Science and Open Labs at Yale. Anyone who is interested in talking to middle school students about science, or volunteering as a breakout room leader can email josephine.jacob-dolan@yale.edu for more information.

United Way Campaign

October 1st-30th

Stay tuned for a host of fun events for our virtual West Campus community – the return of the infamous campus Trivia Night! Cooking Class! And providing Welcome Home kits to rehoused families. Contact jessica.criscuolo@yale.edu to help West Campus make an impact, and look out for event details coming soon.

Try anything new during 2020 that you want to show off? Send us a photo of you trying something new - a new recipe, lab experiment, craft, exercise, or more. Do you want to be able to talk about your research in a comprehensible and engaging way, but aren't sure where to start? Then, practice what you’ve learned with a group of your peers and the guidance of the McDougal Career Fellows!

West Campus Showcase

TBD (weeknight during 1st or 2nd week of November)

In collaboration with the Pathways to Science program, we are looking for volunteers for an upcoming online event showcasing the scholarship happening on campus. Volunteers will give short online tours - perhaps showing a rarely seen part of your space or demonstrating the use of an interesting piece of equipment - and answer questions from curious students. If you are interested in being involved, either by showcasing your space or helping with logistics, please email jennifer.troiano@yale.edu for more information.
