Practice Details

We practice on Fridays (4-6pm) and Sundays (1-3pm) at Quinnipiac River Archery Park. Don't worry about transportation: truly wonderful team members have volunteered to drive the team and equipment to practice. (Want to be a driver? Let us know!)

Because the range is outdoors, our practice season takes place from September to October and then we briefly start back up in April. (We are hopeful to secure an indoor space soon to be able to practice year round!) We do not practice during school breaks.

While we appreciate members being consistent in attendance, we understand the demands that come with being a Yale student and the need to miss practice some weeks.

We have recurve bows and arrows available for member use. Have your own bow? Awesome! You are welcome to store it with our equipment.

Beginners! Don't worry! We have a wonderful team of captains and coach who are excited to teach you all things archery. Just be patient and never hesitate to ask for clarification!

Experienced archers! Don't worry! We won't slow you down. You are welcome to use our time at the range as free practice to do as you please. An even better option? Volunteer to be one of our captains and help lead practice!

We want to be transparent that we do require dues (a fee to participate in practices). The specific amount varies per year. These are necessary for us to cover the practice, coaching, and transportation costs. We try our best to keep these as low as possible and keep club archery accessible to everyone. If you have any concerns or questions regarding dues, do not hesitate to let us know.
