About Us

The Yale International Genetically Engineered Machine Team is an undergraduate-run research organization that designs and conducts projects in synthetic biology. We seek to conduct cutting-edge, publication-quality research that is motivated by real-world problems. We also explore the impact of our research and of synthetic biology as a field through community engagement.

Members Benefits

Researchers are added to the team each fall through an application process involving both written statements and an interview. Researchers specialize in either dry lab or wet lab, and the Executive Board ensures constant communication between wet lab, dry lab, and mentors. Each project lasts two years, and the team competes at the iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris every odd-numbered year (2025, 2027, etc.).
