A casual, open conversation where early-career researchers share real experiences and practical advice about doing fieldwork. This is a space to talk honestly about what
they wish they'd known before starting, including challenges, lessons learned, and what actually worked.

For our Social Science Panel, students will discuss qualitative methods in practice, building and maintaining community relationships, navigating cultural contexts, working with human participants, and the ethical complexities of social research in the field.

We'll cover topics organically, but these are some areas that might come up:
• Timeline and planning (realistic expectations, dealing with delays)
• Budgets and logistics (funding, resources, equipment)
• Interdisciplinary work (learning new fields, bridging methodologies)
• Ethics and safety (field safety, ethical dilemmas)
• Working with people (collaborators, participants, advisors)
• Personal wellness (boundaries, burnout prevention, sustainability)
