    Avoid late fees: place your orders with payment by March 27th!  All Students - NO Returns – Attire is yours to KEEP!

    If students miss the deadline, there will be a very limited number of extra caps, gowns, and hoods available during regalia distribution. All extras will be on a first-come, first-come, first-served basis. At that time, an additional $10.00 late fee will be added to the attire cost. Only credit card payments will be accepted. You may borrow a gown from a previous YSOA graduate but be sure to borrow the cap, gown and architecture hood.

    The Cap and Gown Agency has provided students with a convenient way to place their cap and gown orders online with the option to pay by credit card or student account billing. Note: if you opt to pay by student charge, student account billing will be available through 4 pm on March 27 to students who currently have the privilege of charging designated goods and services to their student accounts. Students can access online ordering through the Yale Hub . After logging into the Main Menu, click on Commencement Menu, then Order Cap & Gown and follow the instructions.

Distribution Schedule Class of 2026

Attire may be picked up at the Payne Whitney Gymnasium John J. Lee Amphitheater, located to the right of the main entrance, during the hours listed below. Please bring your Yale I.D. If you are unable to pick up your attire at any of these times, you must make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for you. The person who is picking up your attire must present their Yale I.D. (or a valid official I.D.) with a note and your signature giving them permission to pick up your attire.

FAQs

  • How can a student pay for her/his commencement attire?

    Students can order online and pay by credit card or student charge (for those students who currently have the privilege of charging designated goods and services to their student accounts, charging will be available to them until 4 pm on March 28).

  • What if I am graduating with two degrees?

    You will have the option of selecting a “Primary” degree which will determine your gown selections and a “Joint” degree option to purchase a second hood if you desire.

  • What If I can't pick up the gown myself?

    If you are unable to pick up your attire at any of these times, you must make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for you. The person who is picking up your attire must present their Yale I.D. (or a valid official photo I.D.) with a note and your signature giving them permission to pick up your attire.
