Loan Request Form - Academic Year 2026-2027
Private Loans - Credit-based educational loans offered by private lenders, such as banks, online lenders, and credit unions, are available to both U.S. citizens and international graduate students. International students typically need a creditworthy U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident co-signer. Students apply directly through the lenders’ websites, and if approved, the lender works with Yale to disburse funds to the student’s YalePay account. Please note: Credit qualification varies lender to lender, and interest on private loans begins accruing once Yale receives payment of the loan, and may be capitalized when repayment begins. For private loan options, visit our website.

Work Hour Limitations
YSOA students may work up to 19 hours per week in total, including both on- and off-campus positions. This policy is designed to help you balance your coursework, studio commitments, and employment without becoming overwhelmed.
International students must also comply with OISS (Office of International Students & Scholars) regulations. It is essential to adhere to the 19-hour-per-week limit for all employment, both on and off campus. Please contact OISS if you have questions or need additional guidance regarding these rules.
Employment Opportunities within the School
The Yale School of Architecture offers a variety of on-campus job opportunities that address the School’s diverse needs. Students do not need to qualify for financial aid to hold these positions. Most roles require several hours of work per week during the academic term only.
Incoming students interested in work-study positions for the spring term may begin applying in December. Please note that work-study placements for the fall term are assigned during the previous semester; therefore, incoming students are not eligible to apply for fall YSoA work-study positions during their first term. However, you may apply for other on-campus job opportunities available during the fall term.
Additional Employment Resources
Beyond opportunities within YSOA, the Yale Student Employment Office (SEO) helps students find employment across the University. More information about available positions and application procedures can be found through the Yale Student Employment website.
