  • August 2 at 5:00 pm- Davidson website closes to faculty rankings. Stack is a robust, multipurpose template built with reuse and modularity at the core. Blending contemporary styling with beautiful markup, Stack forms the ideal starting point to website projects of any kind.
  • August 9 by 5:00 pm- The results of Davidson algorithmic ranking will be released. All rankings are tentative and dependent on class size.
  • Immediately following the release of Davidson results, students can reach out to faculty to share interest in positions that remain unfilled. During this Round II, the student and faculty can together determine the placement and share the results with the Asst Dean for Student Affairs. Davidson will not be run for Round II. Students can hold any combination of positions as long as the total number of hours worked is less than 19 hours/week. Davidson will assign either up to one TF or two AA/CA positions. Additional positions can be filled in Round II (which takes place outside of Davidson.)
  • Faculty are asked to communicate Round II selections to Nadine directly.

The YSOA TF/CA appointment system, named after American architect Lois Davidson Gottlieb, an apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright, who was best known for her residential designs, allows you to rank jobs using a drag and drop process similar to the Serlio registration process.

  • Employment hourly limitation

YSOA permits students to work up to 19 hours a week (including both on and off campus positions.) Please be mindful of this policy as it has been enacted to help you manage your courses and studio work without feeling overwhelmed in managing your employment and coursework.

  • Policies, Procedures and Rules

-M.Arch I Students: limited to three (3) TF or ITF YSoA positions during the three-year program enrollment period. This limitation will not be applicable if no other qualified student is available, meaning that Round II placements (see above) do not contribute to this count. There is no limitation on YSoA hourly positions.

-M.Arch II and MED Students: limited to two (2) TF or ITF during the two-year program enrollment period. This limitation will not be applicable if no other qualified student is available, meaning that Round II placements (see above) do not contribute to this count. There is no limitation on YSoA hourly positions.

-All students are limited to no more than nineteen (19) hours per week for all jobs within the University. International students must adhere to OISS rules, it is extremely important to comply with the 19 hours per week requirement for both on and off campus employment. Contact OISS for additional information.

-As with Serlio, an active VPN connection is required to access Davidson off-campus. Students initially rank all the jobs of interest. Faculty then rank students who have expressed an interest in a position. The system will run at the deadline and the Davidson algorithm will match students with courses based on factors including student first choice and faculty ranking

-Davidson will assign each student up to either one TF10 position or two CA or AA positions, if the rankings support such placement. So, if you receive a TF placement, you won't be placed elsewhere by Davidson. If a AA or CA position is open after the first round (Davidson), you can apply directly to the instructor or staff member and fill the second AA or CA position at that time. Students are eligible for any combination of positions that do not require more than19 hours/week.

-If you apply for a TF position after having already served as a TF two (2) times (M.Arch IIs) or three (3) times (M.Arch Is), we reserve the right to cancel your application for that position and to disqualify you from holding any position during this term.

-Course travel opportunities are reserved for enrolled students only. Course TF/ITF/TA/AA are not eligible for travel.

-We recommend you reach out to faculty to express your interest in positions and set up an interview, if requested.

-Any student approved for a leave of absence is not eligible for any YSOA position during the leave effective period or during the break period prior to the term effective period.

Remember, you must be on the Yale VPN to use Davidson outside of Rudolph Hall.
