New Directions in Environmental Law 2027 Conference

Rooted:
How Location, Lineage, and Livelihood Define Environmentalism

February 26-27, 2027
at Yale Law School

New Directions in Environmental Law is an annual conference open to students, researchers, and practitioners interested in environmental law and policy.

This year's conference will explore how environmental law is shaped by the places we inhabit, the legacies passed down to us, and the daily ways communities interact with the land and resources around them. We will examine how geographical context, cultural heritage, and socio-economic realities intersect to form the foundation of modern environmentalism and legal advocacy.

By bringing together practitioners, scholars, activists, and law students, we anticipate that NDEL 2027 will provide participants with opportunities for progressive conversation and change.

Organized by Students from Yale Law School • Yale School of the Environment • Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University
