NAB functions by pairing college students with residents in local Alzheimer's/dementia care facilities for weekly one-on-one visits. These students work with both family members and staff to determine the best way to utilize their visits in order to learn more about the interests and lives of the residents, thereby forming connections that help combat the isolation often felt by residents in such facilities. Additionally, NAB chapters in the past have helped educate campus communities about AD, launched music therapy initiatives, and performed clinical research studies. We see a gap in school systems nationwide in the way that girls are taught about their bodies. By teaching young girls to appreciate their bodies for the power and strength of which they are capable rather than what they look like, we hope to create a foundation for a lifetime of positive body image, high self-esteem, healthy relationships, as well as a love of running.
We also hope that this organization will help break down some of the "bubble" between Yale and New Haven by promoting an extracurricular activity that goes beyond academics and partners with young girls in New Haven as positive female role models.

RISE is a tutoring and mentoring organization that works with immigrants and refugees in New Haven to overcome language and cultural barriers they may face. Our team of tutors works through weekly in-school and in-home sessions in a variety of public schools and family homes. Our tutors work with a curriculum designed by our team, and we provide resources necessary for our ESL based programming. In addition to these weekly sessions, we organize monthly community events to allow for cultural exchanges to benefit the greater New Haven community, the immigrant and refugee populations, and the Yale community.

As our society becomes more and more technologically advanced, computer science becomes increasingly important and relevant. However, programming is inaccessible to many minority groups, especially women. We believe that teaching programming skills to girls will inspire and foster an interest in computer science. Moreover, our classes expose students to a technical field and allow them to create concrete products and instill value of perseverance, creativity, ownership, and achievement. SheCode wants to lower the initial intimidation barrier of computer science and create a supportive environment where students of all background can learn, collaborate, and create something incredible.

This organization will exist as the undergraduate chapter of the Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer which since 1953 has supported families whose children are undergoing cancer treatments at Smilow Cancer Hospital: https://tommyfund.org/. The Tommy Fund provides direct payment for rent, mortgage and utility bills so parents can take time off from work to tend to their child. The clinic sees several hundred newly-diagnosed children each year and treats more children with cancer than any other hospital in Connecticut. The undergraduate chapter will raise money, build a network of groups that support the Smilow Hospital Tommy Fund, and will raise awareness about the plight of families struggling with childhood cancer.

“Yale Education Tutoring Initiative - an Undergraduate Organization” connects Yale Undergraduate Students with greater New Haven high school students to assist with tutoring in areas including academic subjects, ACT and SAT preparation, as well as supporting the college application process, especially for first generation applicants. Undergraduate Yale students are assessed for interests and specialties and matched with high school students in their needed areas for tutoring. Tutoring occurs weekly for each student in one-hour tutoring sessions, with multiple weekdays available for student flexibility.

Our mission is to introduce robotics to the underprivileged youth in New Haven and encourage imagination and teamwork. By providing an early, hands-on look into engineering, Funbotics aims to drive more children into STEM fields from a young age. Through our program, students not only learn the foundations of robotics and develop critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills, but they also are exposed to the fun in robotics and STEM.
