We are anticipating you have many questions and are listing information we hope you find helpful:

Immigration Documents: Your names have been forwarded to Yale's Office of International Students and Scholars. They will be contacting you shortly regarding the updated I-20s to accommodate your early arrival.

Things to Bring: The average temperature will be 80 to 90 degrees [┬░F] or-mid 30's [┬░C]. It may be very hot while you are here, so bring shorts, swim/outdoor/casual clothes.

Transportation to New Haven: You will receive further emails from us re: transportation from the New York City (NYC) airports. You can take an "airporter" (airport bus) to Grand Central Station (the main train station in NYC). You will then take a train from Grand Central Station to New Haven for about $15; the cost for a taxi cab from the New Haven train station to your house should not be more than $20. NOTE: Do not take a cab from the NYC airport to New Haven.

Housing: Those of you who will be living in Graduate student housing should be able to move into your dorm rooms early. Your names have been forward to the housing office. For those of you not staying in Graduate student housing, resources can be found on the Graduate Housing website.

Stipends: You will receive your stipend checks for the summer program on the 15th and the 30th of August.

Meals/Food: We will be providing meals on some occasions throughout the program, including the first and last day, as well as several evenings during the program. However, you will be responsible for arranging your own meals during the program. There are many restaurants and eateries around the campus. You can view some of them by visiting Shops at Yale or Info New Haven. (Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or special considerations by submitting this survey, and we will do our best to accommodate you.)

Getting Settled: You will have time in the first week to take care of any personal business like phone, banking and utilities. We will also be providing information on these topics to help guide you through these decisions. We will also be taking you shopping by bus the first week (Ikea/Target) to buy larger household items. Getting Around Campus: Check the transportation options available at Yale and take a virtual tour of the campus.

Schedule: A program schedule will be posted at the beginning of each week and you will find it under the "Program Schedule" page. Our schedule will keep you busy most days, as well as many evenings. You will have at least one weekend day off each week.

Safety: Please visit the Public Safety at Yale website to get information on best practices, services offered and available resources. You will notice many Blue Phones around the campus placed to report any incidents.
