About Us

The Salus Populi Foundation at Yale's mission is to offer undergraduates an avenue to engage with Yale's world-class development-economics faculty, research programs, and the Yale Economic Growth Center to prepare students to be at the vanguard of welfare-maximizing policy-formation. By bringing together undergraduates, faculty, and policy practitioners under a collaborative, multidisciplinary framework, SPF hopes to research, debate, and devise innovative solutions to pressing problems in international economic, social, and political development. We aim to foster an intellectual community on campus who are passionate about efforts to enhance socio-economic welfare within developing countries. Our efforts are deeply motivated by Cicero's maxim, salus populi suprema lex esto ('the welfare of the people should be the supreme law'.)
