About Us
Tangled Up in Blue (TUIB) provides a musical space for students passionate about creating and sharing folk music. Through on-campus performances and tours, TUIB shares that love of folk music with our larger communities, from Yale itself to the towns that members are from. Our group has repertoire that ranges from the bluegrass tunes of the Appalachians to traditional Irish ballads, the folk-rock hits of Bob Dylan to the contemporary country and jazz of Beyoncé and Cécile McLorin Salvant. We sing four-part folk harmonies and accompany ourselves on guitar, banjo, fiddle, viola, mandolin, and harmonica.
