The Yale Federalist Society
For Law and Public Policy Studies
The Federalist Society is founded on three core principles: We believe that the state exists to preserve freedom. We believe that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution. And we believe that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.
The Federalist Society at Yale Law School is committed to encouraging open and honest debate on the fundamental legal issues of our day. We provide a wide range of programs open to our members and to the Yale Law School community, including speakers, debates, and social events. The Yale Federalist Society is proud to be the recipient of the 2022 James Madison Chapter of the Year Award.
