Connecting Yale's optics & photonics community
The Yale Optica Student Chapter connects graduate students, postdocs, and faculty across the Departments of Applied Physics and Physics who work in optics and photonics. We exist to build connections between research groups that would otherwise rarely cross paths, through our flagship program, the Optics Tuesday Lunch Seminars (TLS), a biweekly series where faculty, postdocs, and graduate students present their work over lunch in an informal, collegial setting.
Beyond TLS, we organize lab visits, invited talks, and other events that connect Yale's optics and photonics community with researchers across campus and beyond. We give graduate students and postdocs a low-stakes venue to practice scientific communication, get feedback on their work, and find new collaborators across research groups.
