Jo McDougal’s GradPI Tip of the Week - One of the most important decisions a student makes in graduate school is choosing an advisor or "principal investigator (PI)," which can strongly impact the student’s graduate experience. The Yale Graduate Student Assembly (GSA) is committed to enhancing graduate student experiences and choices on advising. The GSA Academic & Professional Development Chair, Gadareth Higgs, founded the website GradPI. which helps users make informed decisions by providing a venue for past and current grad students, postdocs, research scientists, and undergrads to anonymously evaluate advisors based on a SMART (Standing, Mentorship, Autonomy, Resources, Tact) assessment. This site’s value relies on the number and quality of its ratings. So the GSA asks you to sign up for gradPI and evaluate all of the advisers with whom you have worked, at Yale or elsewhere. If you are already a GradPI user, please fill out this survey. Thank you for your continued support!
