Fellows' Tips of the Week

Jing and Saiti's International Tip of the Week - The United Way of Greater New Haven for a community conversation about how to end hunger with New Haven Food Activists will be on May 12th at 3pm. Come and share your opinions of how to build a better community! Click here for more information!

Connor & Jen and Taryn & Johnny's Family Tip of the Week - Whether summer days, rainy days, or random days, Connecticut's museums run the gamut of culture and learning experiences! Most are reopened with social distanced guidelines and many offer free admission to children of different ages! Plan a vaccinated day trip and explore a new world (and perhaps a new part of the state) with your family!

Billy and Nakeirah’s Social Tip of the Week - May the Force be with you! Your friendly ol' East Rock Brewing Company is hosting Star Wars Trivia on May 5th @ 6:30pm. See ya there at 285 Nicoll St.

Alycia and Helen’s Arts and Culture Tip of the Week - If you’re looking for some funny, punny, and creative cross-stitch patterns, look no further! Here is a collection of 18 designs that make for cool wall décor and/or gifts.

Emily and Sarwar's Sports and Rec Tip of the Week - If you love biking then check out this year's "Ride the State: Connecticut 2021". Join the bikers of CT for a 56-mile bike ride to explore the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail! Saturday, June 26 from New Haven, CT to Southwick, MA. Tickets are $40 per person which includes lunch. Sam's Graduate School Peer Advising Opportunity Tip of the Week - The Office of Career Strategy is seeking one humanities or social science PhD student to advise Yale College students and recent alumni on the humanities/social science graduate school application process as Graduate School Peers Advisors. 3-5 hours a week expected, with occasional 6-7-hour weeks. McDougal Graduate Student Life is looking for a Family Fellow - one GSAS grad student or can be shared by a student-partner couple, with or without kids - for the 2021-22 academic year! GSL Family Fellows create student life programs catering to GSAS students with kids, spouses & partners, and meet and collaborate with other students and administrators. You'll also get to develop your leadership and teamwork skills, and get paid! GSAS full-time degree students, in residence in Greater New Haven and in years 2-6 during the next academic year. Fellows serve 5-8 hrs per week and receive a $5,000 honorarium for the academic year. Applications close Sunday, May 2nd at 11:59pm. Interviews will be conducted over Zoom.

Learn about the history of Wooster square, and where to shop and eat, and get free snacks at the end, as we enjoy the warm and beautiful weather! For Yale grad students & scholars only, no family or guests, per Yale covid no visitors policy.

This event is open to Yale students only. We cannot provide Pizza due to university regulations. But participants can choose to shop around Wooster square after the event ends.
