2024 US-China Ethics Bowl Competition
The US-China Ethics Bowl, hosted by Yale University, is a groundbreaking initiative co-organized by the Chinese Undergraduate Students at Yale (CUSY) and the Yale Ethics Society. This unique event brings together high school students from the United States and China, providing a platform for them to engage in thoughtful discussions on pressing ethical issues.
With the aim of fostering mutual understanding and collaboration, the Ethics Bowl encourages participants to share diverse perspectives and learn from one another. This cross-cultural dialogue promotes critical thinking and bridges cultural gaps, laying the foundation for deeper connections between students from both nations.
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION DESCRIBES THE COMPETITION PROCESS FOR TEAMS COMPETING FROM CHINA.
The first round will be an essay competition with the following deadlines:
Regular deadline: 1st November 2024
Late deadline: 9th November 2024
Winners will be announced by the end of November, with select candidates progressing to the national round
The national round will be held at the end of December, as an online national ethics debate competition in groups of up to 5, with an additional entry fee for members chosen
Winners of the national round will progress to the international round, in the Spring.
