About Us
Our purpose is to engage the Yale community in issues regarding Filipino culture. We achieve this goal by hosting events that raise awareness of Filipino identity, such as cooking events, weekly dinners, mixers, cultural shows, and political discussions. Kasama is a small club and our name - translated from Tagalog as "together" - embodies our mission to bring together members of the community both Filipino and non-Filipino. Thus Kasama is involved in the Asian American Cultural Center at Yale, The Asian American Students Alliance, and other umbrella organizations in order to embrace both Filipino and pan-Asian identity. We work closely with other groups at Yale to foster a sense of collaboration and inclusivity.
