Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be a good dancer to be in Dance Break?
Nope! Even if you truly have no coordination, you are still welcome to join Dance Break. The goal is to have fun, not to master the choreography.
Are there performances?
Dance Break is purely meeting-based, meaning that there are zero outside commitments, performances included. We dance for ourselves, not for an anticipated audience. We know performing can bring its own joys, though, so if being onstage is more your thing, check out other dance groups on campus that have shows, too!
What style of dance is featured during meetings?
Dance Break aims to offer a variety of dance and music styles to engage our members. If a certain style, song, or artist featured at one meeting really isn't your favorite, skip that day and come next time!
I'm in another dance group on campus. Can I be in Dance Break, too?
Absolutely! You are more than welcome to join other dance groups. Dance Break was created as an alternative to existing dance clubs, not as a replacement.
I'm an advanced dancer. Can I still participate?
While Dance Break is structured for those without studio experience, we welcome those of all dance levels! Just keep in mind that our choreography is intentionally simple and accessible rather than requiring technical skill.
