Welcome to the
Yale Environmental Law Association (YELA)

About Us

The Yale Environmental Law Association (YELA) seeks to create community among YLS students interested in the environment. We welcome everyone to join us, irrespective of prior environmental background or experience. In 2022-2023, we plan to offer a variety of programming. We invite new members be involved as much or as minimally as they'd like.

Mission

The Yale Environmental Law Association (YELA) aims to build community among YLS students interested in the environment and climate change. YELA seeks to draw attention to all aspects of our natural and built environment through community events, panels and reading groups, and opportunities to serve historically marginalized and frontline communities in the fight for environmental justice. YELA places special emphasis on creating a community that is anti-racist, sustainable, and equitable for all students. Accordingly, YELA prioritizes events centered on racial equity and justice within the environmental movement.

We welcome everyone to join us, regardless of prior environmental background or experience. In 2022-2023, we plan to offer a variety of programming. We invite new members to be as involved as they would like and welcome any and all feedback.
