President
Tess is a second-year Master of Public Health student in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) pursuing the U.S. Health Justice Concentration. Prior to beginning at YSPH, she graduated with a BA in Psychology with Honors and a double minor in Neuroscience and Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross in 2021. Tess worked as a research professional in mental and behavioral health spaces at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. As a master’s student, she is interested in addressing the social and political determinants impacting mental and behavioral health equity, seeking to bridge the gap between mental and behavioral health research, health policy, and legislation. In her free time Tess enjoys golfing, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and exploring all the fantastic restaurants New Haven has to offer.
Vice President
Anna is a second-year Master of Public Health student in the Health Policy Department, concentrating in U.S. Health Justice. Anna previously attended the University of California, Berkeley where she obtained a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology and a minor in Jewish Studies. Following completion of this degree, Anna lived in San Francisco while gaining clinical experience. Now as a Master’s student, Anna is interested in how to advance health equity using health policy as a tool to address unique challenges in health delivery. As a leader in SAYPH, Anna is committed to ensuring that students can find and create community during their time as public health students. Outside of her Master’s program, Anna enjoys going on day trips, listening to audiobooks, playing piano, baking, running and connecting with others.
Communications Chair
Peppy is a second-year MPH student on the Social Behavioral Sciences track pursuing the Global Health Concentration. Prior to YSPH, she graduated with a BS in Psychology with a minor in Korean. Her current research interests lies in refugee health, health equity, and racial disparities. Peppy is currently doing her master's thesis on North Korean defector health inequities and human rights. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, traveling, and dancing.
Treasurer
Yeji Hong is an MPH student in Chronic Disease Epidemiology. Outside of school, she enjoys listening to podcasts, walking around new neighborhoods, and finding good coffee. She has lived in Seoul, Singapore, and London.
Wellness Chair
Katniss is a second-year MPH student on the Social Behavioral Sciences track. She is passionate about wellness and nutrition. Outside of the classroom, you may find her practicing Fantaisie-Impromptu in the Harkness Hall Ballroom.
Professional Development and Alumni Engagement Chair
Shivani is a second-year MPH student in the Social and Behavioral Sciences department. Her focus is on maternal and child health and medicine, with an aim to bridge the gap between public health work and traditional healthcare. As the Professional Development & Alumni Engagement Chair, she hopes to empower students with strong connections that will facilitate the success of their future careers.
Community Engagement Chair
Antigone Antonakakis is a second-year MPH student in the Healthcare Management program. Her work centers on advancing equity, strengthening care delivery systems, and championing community-rooted solutions. Throughout her time at Yale, philanthropy and social impact have been central to her experience, shaping her commitment to mission-driven leadership and community engagement. Antigone is passionate about addressing housing and healthcare disparities affecting young adults with disabilities and hopes to develop sustainable, inclusive models of support. She is excited to serve as the Community Engagement Chair of SAYPH and create meaningful opportunities to engage within our community. In addition to her involvement with SAYPH, Antigone serves as the Executive Director of the HAVEN Free Clinic and a part of the Yale Philanthropy Conference.

Selam Mekbeb-Gillett is a second year MPH student in the SBS department. She serves on the SAYPH board as one of the social chairs and is excited to enact a vision of belonging through engaging events from the student organizations fair to the annual YSPH formal.

Alexandria McColley is a 2nd year MPH Candidate in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department. Alexandria serves as one of the social chairs on the SAYPH board. Alexandria's goal this year is to build community through exciting events, where students can engage with one another and foster lasting memories!
MS Representative
Skel Yeung is an M.S. Health Informatics student with a strong interest in digital health, biomedical privacy, and ethics. She previously completed her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in London. Beyond SAYPH, Skel is actively involved in organizations such as the Yale Biotech Club. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, painting, and dabbling in perfumery.
MS Representative
Amber is a second-year graduate student from California in the MS Health Informatics program. She is interested in data-driven approaches and AI applications in healthcare. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, playing video games, and attending music festivals.

Ameesha is a second-year master’s student in Health Informatics with a background in dentistry. She is passionate about using data to build tools that improve care for people living with chronic illnesses. Outside of academics, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing squash, and exploring new dessert spots.
PHD Representative
Jack Carew ‘20 is a PhD candidate in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health. He has collaborated with teams in Syria, Colombia, Jordan, and Cameroon on projects elucidating environmental and genetic characteristics of malaria and leishmaniasis transmission. He is currently a Fulbright-Fogarty and Global Health Emerging Scholars Fellow in Uganda, where he investigates the use of xenosurveillance for monitoring the and spread of partially artemisinin-resistant malaria with colleagues at Makerere University. When not completing research, Jack likes to study languages, hike, camp, and try cooking new dishes.
PHD Representative
Whitney is a PhD candidate in Social and Behavioral Sciences who conducts research investigating the impacts of housing and displacement on chronic disease and mental health. She loves teaching and is always on the lookout for a good hike in the area.
