The Graduate Student Assembly is an elected body of Yale students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Mission 1: Educate
As a relatively new field, chemical biology has been growing tremendously over the past few years. We aim to make contributions to the further promotion of the chemical biology field, and help scientists within or without this field better understand what the field entails and its potential to contribute to the frontiers of science. ICBS-Yale is dedicated to educating academics about chemical biology, starting locally with the Yale community, and then expanding to the greater New England area, working together with the ICBS-Boston Chapter.

Mission 2: Appreciate
As the chemical biology field starts to gain more appreciation, many academic institutions are looking to expand in this area. However, it has been noticed that graduate and post-doctoral trainees in chemical biology might still be at disadvantage and sometimes overlooked during job hunting due to the lack of robust understanding of this new field. ICBS-Yale will make efforts to garner more respect and appreciation for this discipline, hoping to bring trainees tremendous benefits in their future career development.

Mission 3: Bridge
ICBS-Yale is dedicated to better bridging the siloed worlds of trainees in the biological and biomedical sciences and trainees in chemistry. We aim to foster communication, collaboration, and community between these disparate research areas.

Mission 4: Connect
ICBS-Yale aims to build stronger connections between academia and industry, and thus provide professional resources to chemical biology trainees, as well as to those who conduct scientific research at the interface between chemistry and biological & biomedical sciences. Yale-based biotech startup companies and therapeutic innovation efforts launched by Yale faculties will also be exploited as tremendous resources within the Yale community, which could be more accessible for Yale trainees.

As a summary of all previously listed missions and purposes, ICBS-Yale is dedicated to the career development of Yale chemical biology trainees, as well as to those who conduct scientific research at the interface between chemistry and biological & biomedical sciences.

Korean Graduate Student Association at Yale is an active organization on campus with around 150-200 members. Our purpose is to help Korean and Korea-interested graduate students navigate opportunities and communities around campus.

The purpose of the organization is to enhance the network and the academic and vocational cooperation among the Korean graduate students at Yale, and to provide social, cultural and educational functions for Korean graduate students as well as the general student body at Yale. Ludi et Veritas is a Yale board gaming club. Our goal is to bring people together to play board games. We meet regularly (usually weekly) to play and teach board games that promote the social interaction, intellectual stimulation, and just plain fun that comes out of unplugging from our busy lives. Ludi et Veritas is committed to make board games inclusive to all members of the Yale community. We have members that are undergraduates, graduate/professional students, postdocs, and Yale staff. We welcome gamers of all levels and tastes. We have some games available at all times at the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) and we generally bring different types of games for all levels and people to teach them. But please, bring your own games if you want. You may find others that want to play them.

Mission
The goal of the New Haven Science Fair Program is to work with students and teachers from New Haven Pre-K through Grade 12 classrooms, to help them carry out investigative hands-on science fair projects in order to promote skills in critical thinking, the scientific process, and science communication.

The program now engages about half of the population of the New Haven Public School system (over 8,000 students) and almost all of its schools (43 schools), utilizing more than 200 volunteers for mentors and judges each year.

Pathways to Science is Yale's coordinated STEM outreach infrastructure that provides an overarching infrastructure for the many and varied STEM programs and events for local pre-college students at Yale. Guided by a steering committee of Yale senior scientists and administrators, the Office of New Haven Affairs serves as a central hub for this initiative, both assisting Yale faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates in designing and implementing STEM programming as well as managing contacts and relationships with participating school districts, teachers, parents, and pre-college students. The more than 1,800 Pathways to Science Scholars are considered the youngest members of Yale's scientific community and are invited throughout the year to special events, academic lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, summer programs, and research opportunities.
