About Us
First Year Counselors, colloquially known as FroCos are a hallmark of Yale’s advising system. This program provides first-year students access to experienced, mature, and knowledgeable members of the senior class who strive to ease their transition to the academic, social, and cultural life of Yale College. FroCos work with their Residential College Dean and Head of College, along with an array of campus partners to help first-year students define a sense of self, a sense of place, and a sense of responsibility.
