Mission
First Year Counselors, colloquially known as FroCos are a hallmark of Yale’s advising system. This program provides first-year students access to experienced, mature, and knowledgeable members of the senior class who strive to ease their transition to the academic, social, and cultural life of Yale College. FroCos work with their Residential College Dean and Head of College, along with an array of campus partners to help first-year students define a sense of self, a sense of place, and a sense of responsibility.

The Africa SIG is a group of engaged students interested in the environmental challenges and opportunities on the continent. The purpose of Africa SIG is two-fold: (1) to serve as a forum for information exchange and research support for members; (2) to create opportunities on campus to engage with the vibrant culture of Africa. The SIG hosts and co-sponsors talks with scholars and practitioners, movie screenings, and cultural experiences to share the colourful traditions that have existed for centuries in Africa.

To foster a vibrant community of Black scholar-leaders and others who are committed to preserving and promoting the historical, cultural, intellectual and social movement traditions of the African Diaspora at Yale, in New Haven, and throughout the world.

Mission:

Established in 1969, the Afro-American Cultural Center ("the House") has a rich history of serving as Yale's home away from home for its Black student body and all campus and local community constituents who wish to learn about and celebrate the cultures and traditions of the African Diaspora.

The House facilitates its community members' success in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and advocacy through advising, empowerment cultural enrichment, educational programming, social development, and career preparation.

The mission of this student group is to enable health practitioners to become designers and not just consumers of artificial intelligence. Through robust lectures, reading circles and working groups, we aim to promote a healthy curiosity about AI and build tangible skills. Facilitated by the co-chairs, the group will be open to all Schools but anchored at the School of Public Health. We aim to bring industry experts such as AI founders, researchers, investors and CPOs to engage with the group.

As an umbrella organization we seek to unite the dance groups on campus, bring together the New Haven and Yale dance community and to work for more administrative support for dance on campus. We believe that there should be maximum cooperation within the campus dance community and that as the dance community grows it is important for us to work with the administration to accommodate their needs of rehearsal and performance space.



The Alliance for Dance at Yale is an umbrella organization which seeks to unite the dance groups on campus, bring together the New Haven and Yale dance community and to work for more administrative support for dance on campus. We book rehearsal space at Payne Whitney Gym for all undergraduate dance groups, and we host the Festival of Dance Groups during Opening Days for freshman. The Alliance automatically includes all members of dance groups on campus and is led by a board of directors who are elected by the larger membership each year. This board consists of 5 positions all of which may be held by 1 or 2 people: executive director publicity director treasurer outreach coordinator secretary Additionally a representative from each dance group who wishes to participate in ADAY activities will serve as a direct liason to the board and help in the planning and production of ADAY events. As an umbrella organization we seek to unite the dance groups on campus, bring together the New Haven and Yale dance community and to work for more administrative support for dance on campus. We believe that there should be maximum cooperation within the campus dance community and that as the dance community grows it is important for us to work with the administration to accomodate their needs of rehearsal and performance space. There are no membership requirements, though people wishing to hold office within ADAY must be currently enrolled undergraduates. Elections are held yearly in January. Interested candidate submit a candidate statement to the Alliance and are elected by majority vote.

Allied Scholars for Animal Protection is focused on the abolition of speciesism and exploitation of nonhuman animals. We aim to make students aware of the harms of factory farming and educate about veganism. We also want to provide a space for vegans and animal lovers to build community on campus.

NAB functions by pairing college students with residents in local Alzheimer's/dementia care facilities for weekly one-on-one visits. These students work with both family members and staff to determine the best way to utilize their visits in order to learn more about the interests and lives of the residents, thereby forming connections that help combat the isolation often felt by residents in such facilities. Additionally, NAB chapters in the past have helped educate campus communities about AD, launched music therapy initiatives, and performed clinical research studies. American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) is an international professional society of 40,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. ACHE's mission is to advance our members and healthcare management excellence. Yale ACHE offers networking, education, and career development to students aspiring to pursue healthcare management roles at Yale SPH, SOM, Nursing, Medical School, and the PA program. In the past few years, there has been an average of 100 Yale ACHE chapter members. There will be a variety of ACHE events over the course of the year including speaker series events, chapter events, professional development events, and Connecticut/National ACHE events (CT ACHE Student Career Panel, ACHE Congress).

The American Constitution Society is the largest student group at Yale Law School. ACS@YLS aims to foster community-wide discussion over progressive issues in American law and provide a forum for all members of the Yale Law progressive community to pursue their interests, educate the wider community, and bring scholars and practitioners together to find the best way to effect progressive change.
