Mission
The mission of this student group is to enable health practitioners to become designers and not just consumers of artificial intelligence. Through robust lectures, reading circles and working groups, we aim to promote a healthy curiosity about AI and build tangible skills. Facilitated by the co-chairs, the group will be open to all Schools but anchored at the School of Public Health. We aim to bring industry experts such as AI founders, researchers, investors and CPOs to engage with the group.

Yale-APHA is the Yale chapter of the American Public Health Association, the oldest, largest, and most diverse organization for public health professionals across the world. The mission of Yale-APHA is to: 1) Foster professional and academic development of Yale School of Public Health students, 2) Develop relationships with undergraduate and graduate students with interests in public health and other allied-health professions and 3) Propagate the mission and goals of the American Public Health Association.

We are an affinity group for all students at the School of Public Health who consider themselves to be part of disability community, including (but not limited to): Disabled students, neurodivergent students, students with physical disabilities, Deaf/ hard-of-hearing students, blind students, students with chronic illnesses, students with mental health conditions, other students who receive or would like to receive accommodations, and allies. We embrace disability not just as a personal experience but also as a site of justice work nationally and globally. We aim to foster a sense of community among students with disabilities, share resources for navigating YSPH with a disability, advocate for members of our community, and promote structural transformation.

Mission
The Yale School of Public Health is a leader in Yale University's commitment to improve health across the globe through research, education and community engagement. The School uses science to foster health, promote innovation, train leaders and make a difference in the world. Faculty research spans a variety of fields including chronic and infectious diseases, implementation science, environmental health, behavioral determinants of health, and policy and administration.

YSPH students interested in global health in general and/or the Global Heath Concentration are strongly encouraged to join the Global Health at YSPH YaleConnect page. It serves as the informational hub for updates on global health happenings at YSPH and across the University. It is also the home for students intending to complete the concentration requirements and will serve as their enrollment into the program.

Membership option 2: This membership group is for YSPH students intending to fulfill the GHC requirements. In addition to general membership content as detailed in membership option 1, students enrolling in the GHC will receive info on GHC programmatic requirements, events, initiatives, access to advisement sessions, etc.

Benefits of membership option 2:
- Schedule 1-1 meetings with Assoc. Director re: planning coursework, internships, and extracurricular GH opportunities on/off campus.
- Assigned a GHC Faculty Advisory Committee member for further advisement
- Mentoring opportunities
- Approved courses from across the university can be used to fulfill elective requirements.
- Priority application for YSPH Sustainable Impact in Global Health: signature internship program (paid internship placement)

Out in Public seeks to promote diversity and awareness at Yale School of Public Health by providing a platform for students to advocate for the needs and concerns of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community at YSPH and beyond, by creating a personal and professional network for the LGBTQIA+ community, and by organizing social and academic events aimed at fostering a sense of community at YSPH.

Mission
Reproductive Health Equity Now (RHEN) at the Yale School of Public Health is a student-led group dedicated to advocating, mobilizing, and organizing around total reproductive healthcare equity on-campus, in the US, and globally. We recognize that as future public health professionals, we play a critical role in ensuring reproductive rights, access, and justice for all. Through peer-to-peer education, engagement, and action, collaboration with academic and community partners, and learning from the women and femmes of color at the forefront of this movement, we work to progress access to all reproductive healthcare—birth control, abortion, and gender-affirming care included.

We recognize the intersectionality of this work and strive to also utilize a reproductive justice framework. Reproductive justice was developed in 1994 by the group "Women of African Descent for Reproductive Justice," and is defined as "the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities" (SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective). Reproductive healthcare equity is a part of reproductive justice and focuses on creating a more equitable healthcare system for those who have been marginalized. In working towards this goal, we hope to add to this larger movement for mutual and collective justice.

Mission
SAYPH is organized by YSPH students for YSPH students. SAYPH works to enhance the experience of each student at YSPH by sponsoring educational and social activities, providing a forum for students' ideas and concerns, and acting as a liaison between students and the administration. Through SAYPH, students get involved in many areas including the following:

Student clubs and organizations
Professional development and alumni relations
Community service and social events at YSPH and in the greater community
Health and wellness promotion
Recruitment of new students to YSPH
New student orientation and commencement activities

SAYPH is led by an Executive Board consisting of a president, professional development chair, treasurer, alumni engagement chair, social chair, community service chair, and communications chair. There are also MPH departmental student representatives, PhD representatives, and MS representatives. Each department elects students to act as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration. All SAYPH positions are filled through a school-wide nomination process that takes place annually.

The CT Hospice Advisory Board is a a diverse team of Yale graduate students from health care and management-related programs, dedicated to creating a lasting, positive relationship between Yale University and The Connecticut Hospice. Our mission encompasses creative and analytical projects, marketing initiatives, and the roll-out of a new outpatient palliative care center. As the bridge between Yale School of Public Health and CT Hospice, we also organize volunteer hours with the dying and their care community. This collaboration benefits both parties: The Connecticut Hospice gains valuable insights, while students engage in meaningful project-based work. (Fun fact: CT Hospice, founded in 1974 by Florence Wald, a pioneering nurse, along with a group of nurses, doctors, and clergy, was the first hospice in the United States.)

Across the YSPH community, the dean, faculty, staff and the alumni have adopted mentorship, recruitment, retention and professional development practices to help meet our goal of having an outstanding and diverse School of Public Health—a place that better reflects the local, national and international communities we study. The Diversity Ambassadors at YSPH exist to serve as advocates for students and liaisons between the student affinity groups and the larger Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee (DEIB).
