Funding Sources

Below are some (but not all!) of the College funding sources available to registered student organizations.

Let's Talk Money

There are a variety of different funding sources on campus for registered student organizations. Be sure to note the deadlines for applying as well as requirements for keeping and turning in receipts.

For a comprehensive list of funding sources, and well as suggested funding sources for your particular org, checkout our Funding List spreadsheet in the Money and Finance document folder or click here.

Financial Records

Organization leaders should keep original receipts and maintain balanced accounts. Make sure to maintain a record of all income and expenses and supporting documentation. The University may audit records at any time.

For an example of a Financial Report Template checkout the spreadsheet in the Money and Finance document folder or click here.

Banking Options

The University does not provide registered student organizations with bank accounts. In the event that a student organization is in need of opening a bank account, the Yale College Dean's Office encourages student organizations to open accounts at local banks that do not assess service fees.

For a list of the Student Organization Banking Options, checkout the document in the Money and Finance folder or click here.

**As a reminder, university funding sources cannot be used to pay banking fees and university addresses may not be used as the permanent banking addresses for student organizations.
