Year Overview

A list of all the deadlines and events that Student Org Leaders typically see in any given year. Use this timeline as reference for when you should be thinking about submitting certain surveys or attending certain events.

July - September

Fall Organization
Re-registration

In order to be considered fully registered and to have the benefits of registration, organizations must re-register every year. The fall re-registration process opens mid July and closes typically around the first week in September.

August

Student Leadership Training

All organizations must have an officer attend one leadership training session. Your SOC will offer multiple sessions during the month of August. This is mandatory, so please notify your SOC if there is a conflict.

August

Registration for the Student Organizations Bazaar

Registration for the bazaar opens. Student organizations must register for a table ahead of time. If your organization does not sign up for a table, you may be assigned remaining tables the morning of the Bazaar, space permitting. If you register on time, your organization's table will be listed on a map made available to first-years at the start of the Bazaar.

September

Student Organizations Bazaar

The bazaar is one of best ways to recruit new members and showcase your organization to new students. First-years will receive a map of organization tables at the Bazaar and organizations will be grouped by category.

November - December

New Organization Applications

Intent to register a new student organization applications will be open during the end of the Fall semester. Approved organizations will begin onboarding during the Spring semester.

February

Fall End-of-Semester Survey due

This survey is mandatory for all registered student organizations. If your organization does not complete the survey, it will lose its registration status for the remainder of the academic year, so please be sure to complete it on time.

April

501(c)3 Groups File Taxes

The benefits of 501(c)(3) status include exemption from federal income tax and eligibility to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. To qualify for these benefits most organizations must file an application with and be recognized as exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) by the IRS.

June

Spring End-of-semester Survey Due

This survey, along with the one in February, is mandatory for all registered student organizations. If your organization does not complete the survey, it will lose its registration status for the remainder of the academic year, so please be sure to complete it on time.
