Worship & Denominational
Students orgs under this category often will hold regular gatherings and worship services around the campus throughout the year. Many of these groups will host talks and group discussions centered around their particular faith tradition. All students, regardless of your faith background, are invited to attend, become members, and learn about the rich ecumenical tapestry that exists at YDS.
Examples: Evangelical Fellowship, Roman Catholic Fellowship, Reformed Students Society, Mormon Studies Society, Lutheran Student Organization.
Affinity & Cultural
Clubs under affinity serve to support, empower, and create meaningful experiences for groups and communities typically underrepresented across society. Allyship is often also an important component for some affinity Clubs, presenting opportunities for people who don't identify with said community, but also want to engage, advocate, and educate themselves on the issues such communities can face, and how to support at the intersection of business & society.
Examples: YDS Asian Students Association, Yale Black Seminarians, DivOut (LGBTQ+), YDS Women's Center, La Comunidad, Native Crossroads.
Special Interest
These clubs specifically focus on topics of interest, academic and non-academic alike. Special Interest is a large umbrella that covers specific areas of professional development, but also can include hobbies (non-sporting), and social impact advocacy and opportunities in the local or larger communities.
Examples: Anything But Christian, Common Ground, Divinity Colloquium, Divinnovation, Film Club, Paracletes Soccer Club, YDS Play Date.

Yale Divinity student orgs are open to all students who are fully enrolled in the Yale Divinity community.
Non-YDS Yale students may request access to become members with each club. Typically access is restricted to YDS students due to specific funding coming from the YDS community.
Students may contact the Office of Student Affairs if they have questions on joining clubs at YDS.
