Student Group Guidelines for Events at the McDougal Center

Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Email Jennifer ( to reserve the space.

  • Group size is limited to 30 students or less. Attendees must be all GSAS students.
  • Events must take place between 4pm-7:30pm on weekdays and 12:30pm-5:30pm on weekends.
  • Furniture cannot be moved. If the participants move furniture, please put it back to its original set up.
  • The terrace may also be used when the Center is reserved (not an accessible space).
  • Doors cannot be propped open.
  • Students in the Center must still have access to bathrooms and the beverage area.
  • You must provide all of your own supplies for events including but not limited to cups, plates, utensils, and office supplies.
  • Pizza boxes must be taken out to dumpster on the side of the building.
  • No food or extra supplies may be left at the Center after your event.
  • At least 72 hours notice is required to use the space.
  • There is a chance you could be bumped for a McDougal Center event.
  • If you will be serving alcohol, you must have a meeting with Jennifer prior to the event.
  • If you no longer need the space, please cancel within 24 hours. Failure to cancel may result in the revoking of your booking privileges.
  • If the coffee or tea needs refilling, please alert the student worker.
  • If using the screen, please return it to the general display. No IT support is provided.
