August 4th, 2023
SOC training will take place virtually before the beginning of the school year. Training covers the entirety of the SOC job and provides the contacts/resources/information necessary to succeed throughout the year. All SOCs (both new and returning) are required to complete training.

Early August
After receiving organization assignments, SOCs should reach out to leadership in their assigned groups, referencing YaleConnect to know group officers. This email should be introductory and also explain the role SOCs play and ways SOCs can help assist student organizations reach their goals.
See templates or ask other SOCs for emails that they have sent in the past for reference.

Mid August
This meeting is supposed to be a place for SOCs to wrap up summer projects (it provides a loose deadline) and to share their projects with others.
It can also serve as a way to extend a project into the fall semester (if more time is needed).

Mid to Late August
All returning student organizations are required to attend a student leadership training session before class begin. Each SOC will host a minimum of 3 training sessions for their assigned orgs to attend.
Only one representative per organization must attend, and attendees may represent multiple organizations. Organizations unable to attend any session may attend a different SOC's training, and training hosts should notify that SOC.
