Marketing Your Event

Using your Yale Connect Group is a good first start in getting the word out there!

  • Post your event on Yale Connect to raise visibility.
  • Consider "co-hosting" your event with another club to have it appear on more group pages.
  • Use the Emails function to send out newsletters and announcements on your particular events (think weekly, monthly, special announcements etc.)

DivMail & "This Week at YDS"

DivMail

You can submit your events to DivMail (divmail@yale.edu). This is a daily email sent to the entire YDS community each afternoon by 5:00 p.m.

"This Week at YDS" Bulletin

The Office of Student Affairs also sends out a weekly bulletin specifically for the YDS community. Submit your items here by Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. for it to be included in the next bulletin. The weekly bulletin goes out on Sunday afternoons.

Posters and Publicity Policy

Review the below rules on posting flyers around the YDS Campus before you begin!

11x14 inches

is the maximum size allowed for posters.

Only on public boards

can your flyer be posted. Do not post on Dept. boards.

Do not remove

other people's flyers to fit your own. Do not destroy.

Chalk notices

only on walkways open to weather. Not on walls!

If you are a non-YDS group wanting to canvas on YDS campus, you must first obtain permission via OSA.yds@yale.edu.
Going against these policies could result in no further funding or even loss of official recognition.

Flyers or advertisements cannot be posted on any walls or surfaces on campus, due to potential damage of painted surfaces.
Custodial will remove any flyers left taped or placed on walls, window ledges, or communal areas (i.e. tables in the Refectory, 2nd Floor Common Room, waiting areas etc.)

The Communications Office can also help promote some student events in various ways.
